The Armenian Constructive Party will participate in the anticipated pre-term election on June 20, 2021.

According to the amended Electoral Code, the vote will take place by closed lists; the ballot paper will include the names and surnames of the first three candidates. The party ticket will include 99 candidates of which 33 candidates, under the law, will be represented by women. The first three candidates in the party ticket shall be elected by the pre-term party congress whose date will be announced on May 3. The remaining 96 candidates will be nominated by the territorial boards of the party, of which 26 nominees will be public and political figures, 43 nominees will be the representatives of the small and medium business, and 27 nominees will represent farmers.

Nomination

In the party ticket of Yerevan territorial boards there will be 33 nominees, including:

  • Kentron: 5,
  • Ajapnyak and Davidashen: 5,
  • Kanaker-Zeytun and Avan: 5,
  • Malatia-Sebastia: 4,
  • Nor-Nork and Nork-Marash: 4,
  • Arabkir: 4,
  • Shengavit: 3,
  • Erebuni and Nubarashen: 3.

Provincial territorial boards: 64 nominees, including:

  • Armavir province: 9,
  • Ararat province: 9,
  • Shirak province: 8,
  • Kotayk province: 8,
  • Gegharkunik province: 7,
  • Lori province: 7,
  • Syunik province: 5,
  • Aragatsotn province: 4,
  • Tavush province: 4,
  • Vayots-Dzor province: 3.
Requirements to candidates

The party nominee shall be

with at least 10 years of working experience,

with higher education,

highly reputed thanks to one’s public, political, commercial, or farming activity,

who has been holding only the citizenship of the Republic of Armenia and  permanently residing in the Republic of Armenia over the past 4 years,

eligible to vote, and the mastering the Armenian language.

The individuals who fall under the restrictions set forth in the draft law On the Protection of Democracy put forward by the party,

who had been previously convicted for criminal offences except politically persecuted ones,

cannot be party nominees.

Each candidate shall contribute AMD 100,000 to the party finances as election collateral.

Primaries

The party congress approves the candidates for the first three places in the party ticket. To determine the candidate’s place in the ticket from 4 to 99 the results of the primaries are taken into account. Only the persons who contributed to the party’s finances can participate in the primaries. Each election participant shall have the opportunity to select 3 candidates from the general list. The candidate’s place in the ticket will be determined by the candidate’s rating, taking into consideration the priority under the law for female candidates. The date of the primaries will be announced on April 26.
